Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver Installation - 2018 BMW 5 Series- Video

Today on our 2018 BMW5 Series we're gonna be taking a look at, and showing you how to install the Curt Class One custom fit Trailer Hitch receiver.So here's what our hitch is gonna look like once we have it installed. The crosstube's gonna be completely hidden behind the bumper and all we're gonna see is that receiver tube right here at the bottom. Our hitch is gonna offer us an inch and a quarter by inch and a quarter receiver tube opening, since it is a Class One. It's gonna be great for some of those smaller bike racks or cargo carriers. Where 00:00:28 we're gonna mount any of our accessories so the hitch can hold here on the side. It is gonna accept a standard half inch pin and clip, now these are not gonna be included with the hitch, but you can pick 'em up here at etrailer.com.Now if you do plan on doing some light duty towing, keep in mind that there is a drawbar that's specifically made for our hitch here, and you can also pick that up here at etrailer.com, but our safety chain loops are gonna be welded to the bottom of the receiver tube, and as you can see even with this oversized hook, we're still gonna have plenty of room to get it hooked up or take it off.Now as far as the weight capacity goes over hitch, it's gonna have a 200 pound ton weight, which is the maximum downward force at the receiver tube along with the 2,000 gross trailer weight reading. more

Curt Trailer Hitch Installation - 2010 BMW 5 Series- Video

Speaker 1: Today on our 2010 BMW Five Series Wagon we're gonna be taking a look at and installing the Curt class one, custom fit trailer hitch receiver, part number C11194.Here's what our hitch is gonna look like when it's fully installed. It's gonna tuck up nicely behind our fascia and all we're really gonna see is the receiver tube opening here. Now this is a class one hitch so it's gonna give us that inch and a quarter by inch and a quarter receiver tube opening and it's gonna have a nice, reinforced collar giving it added strength and a nice, clean appearance.Now our hitch is gonna use a standard half inch pin and clip which is included which is nice because we won't have anything extra to buy. Now the safety chain loops are gonna be a rolled, steel stock style welded to the bottom of our receiver tube and as you can see we're not gonna have trouble with most size hooks, getting them on or off.Now our hitch is gonna feature a 200 pound tongue weight along with a 2,000 pound gross trailer weight rating and I just want to mention you always want to double check with your vehicle's owner's manual to make sure your vehicle can handle that amount of weight. Now the manufacturer does recommend that you use a stabilization strap whenever you're carrying any non-trailer loads. If you need a stabilization strap you can pick one up on our website using part number 18050.Now I'd like to give you a few measurements that'll help you when deciding for accessories for your new hitch such as a bike rack or a cargo carrier. more

All right, today on this 2008 BMW 5 series, we're going to show you the inaudible 00:00:06 class 1 inch new quarter receiver hitch, part number C11498. This is what the hitch looks like when it's installed in our 535XI. You can see the collar on the receiver here, which is an inch and a quarter, fits right up here against the bottom of the bumper. It has two nice rings for your safe chains for your trailer. It's also used as a half inch hitch pin, or your favorite locking hitch pin. Now, protection points are right behind the bumper, all hidden behind the plastic here. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2013 BMW 5 Series - Curt- Video

Today on our 2013 BMW 5 Series, we're going to be installing the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number C11381. Now here's what our hitch looks like installed on our vehicle. Now let's go ahead and give you a couple of measurements in helping you choose some accessories such as a bicycle rack or a cargo carrier. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the outer most edge of the bumper is approximately 3 inches. From the top of the opening in the receiver to the ground is approximately 10 1/2 inches. Now let's go ahead and install our hitch. We're going to begin here underneath the vehicle where we're going to need to remove this underbody panel. more
